In April we have a layering of energies that range from the potentialities of fruition and the first signs of manifestation, to frustration and confrontation, which we touched on in the March forecast.
Feel free to watch the video version below, or read on:
Here is the short list of astrological events in April:
4/2 Venus Rx conjunct NN
4/4 Saturn sextile Uranus
4/4 Mars trine Saturn
4/6 Venus Rx trine Mars
4/7 Venus Rx conjunct Saturn
4/7 Mercury direct
4/12 Venus direct
4/13 Saturn conjunct NN (11-12yr cycle)
4/16 Mercury enter Aries
4/17 Mercury conjunct Neptune
4/18 Mars enter Leo
4/19 Sun enter Taurus
4/20 Venus conjunct NN
4/24 Venus conjunct Saturn
4/26 Mars opposite Pluto
4/30 Venus enter Aries
To begin, there is an undeniable energy of manifestation this month. Our dreams and our downloads from earlier this year (and the last 12 years really since Neptune entered Pisces in 2012) are now being anchored visibly in one way or another. And the materialization of our intention is apparent as Venus transits all of the planets in Pisces through her retrograde then forward motion. Be sure to keep an eye out for where your dreams are starting to come true between 27° of Pisces and 1° of Aries, because distractions are also in abundance in April.
The distraction and dissonance come from the frustration of needing to pour effort into the nitty-gritty while we move forward. Looking at the Saturn-NN conjunction chart 4/13, we have Saturn setting restrictions on our wants and desires (North Node) in order to focus the dream into the physical world. While limitations and friction are a part of life, the contrast between pure imaginative freedom and our reality bound by gravity and physics can still feel great.

It's like we finally got taken off of the waitlist and received a little plot in the community garden. Then comes the administrative details, paperwork, mandatory trainings, repairing the flowerbeds, preparing the soils, etc. And our initial enthusiasm is dampened by all these mundane procedures. We cannot just dive in with our creativity and plant away as we previously imagined.
This is exactly the experience of Gandanta, a term in Vedic astrology, when planets in water sign begin to move into fire sign, creating a lot of steam and confusion. And for the period in April, because of Mercury retrograding through planets in Aries and Pisces, we can double down on this experience. For example, if we're talking about the fruition of a long-awaited vacation, we can experience unexpected frustrations en route. We forget to empty our water bottle going through TSA, so we get searched. The departure gate changes last minute, and we sprint to the new gate only to find the flight delayed. Then we sit on the tarmac for half an hour because of air traffic. And there could be a real emphasis on travel because of Mars' and Pluto's placements in the 3rd and 9th axis. These placements can also be about contract details and delays. Overall, we ARE on our way and events are moving forward to reach our dreams. We are just also experiencing inconveniences that disperse our energy, tax our patience, and push us into ire.
And that brings us to the Mars-Pluto opposition chart 4/26, when our frustrations can boil-over and tensions escalate into confrontations.

This energy isn't exactly new as we went through it twice already in the last 6 months (11/6/2024, 1/2/2025). Last year's Mars-Pluto opposition on 11/6 was in the Cancer-Capricorn axis and had the silent passive-aggressive bite. And the saving grace this time is that it happens on the Leo-Aquarius axis, which brings more of a reactive bark than surprise attack. So expect some flares to come up in our day-to-day situations, and know that we could easily misinterpret each other (Mercury/Neptune in Aries 6th looking to Mars in Leo 10th). Chances are everyone is processing an overwhelming amount of information, and patience is running low. And because of some expedient and brisk exchanges, we could misunderstand each other and go into reactivity. But all the planets, including the ascendant, look back to Venus in Pisces: meaning with just a little bit of compassion, we can sooth the lion and bring everybody back on track.
Overall, this is still an AMAZING period to see the initial fruits of your labor come true. Just remember that the key this month is self-compassion when you feel irked by someone's hasty words and actions, and compassion when you see someone's temper rise out of our own or others' ignorance. We may all be trying to do our best to get the show on the road. And we may all be put into unwitting situations where feelings are hurt, and we need to regroup in compassionate awareness to reconnect and reestablish mutuality. In case it's helpful, here is a "what and how" video on self-compassion that I made based on Dr. Kristin Neff's work.
And for those with therapy or mental health resources, it's a good time to tap into those as well. 6th house can denote mentors or mental healthcare professionals. And if we're willing to look into and process our defensive mechanisms, triggers, and deeper wounds during this time, we can be rewarded with the right help and a deeper understanding of ourselves.
For additional insight, consider watching this video by clinical psychologist and master astrologer, Dr. Heather Ensworth. In it she talks about the solar eclipse of 3/29 that I see has similar evolutionary intentions to that of the Mars-Pluto opposition 4/26: to heal power-over paradigms and victim-perpetrator dynamic. She approaches her work from the lens of the paradigmatic shift of the Aquarian age and illuminates a path forward for many of our humanitarian predicaments. Her presentations are a little more on the macro level, and profound.
So again, wherever 27° Pisces to 1° Aries lie in your chart, congratulations on your first steps of manifestation. The significance of this period can be obscured by a million other little frustrations and logistical drab. But when you look back on this period years later, you will see the first signs of a great dream taking shape right now - no matter how minuscule or blurred out of focus. Practice gratitude, and continue to tend that soil. We'll all get to the fun and creative parts soon enough.
Have a wonderful April, and I'll see you again in May as we welcome a stretch of smoother sailing with Venus and Saturn ingress into Aries.
Namaste❤️
